Kick-Off for The Big Read - Redlands

The kick-off event will take place on Sunday, March 15 at 3 PM in the Orton Center on the University of Redlands campus. The main event will be a dramatic presentation of “Fahrenheit 451” as presented by The American Place Theatre’s Literature to Life program. This dramatic rendition will be performed by Rich Orlow. This performance will be interpreted for the deaf and hard of hearing. This play will be performed for a second time on Monday, March 16 at 7 PM, also at the Orton Center. The production is free and open to the public. Free copies of “Fahrenheit 451” will be available as well as reader’s guides and audio guides to the book.

  1. Does anyone else find the references to wall size tv screens and the continuous stream of music used to dull the brain eerily relevant to today, especially when the book was written so long ago?
